Made in paper, with pencil, pen, and watercolor pencils.
I drew this last year (a long time ago it feels like!), this is my OC for my Hellsing doujinshi, Phantasm. her name is Rien.

Say hello!
One day, my editor said he needed a color picture of her, and at that moment, i realized id never drawn her in color before! (mangas are in black and white) I had a general idea or her colors when i designed her originally, but it was a bit tough to actually put the colors to paper, because her color scheme is a bit difficult to pull off (at this size anyway). I originally designed her eyes to be rainbow colored, and her hair would be pearlescent, and all the colors of the rainbow would be hiding in the shadows of it.

How the hell do you make that work???
Photoshop could maybe pull it off, but at the time, i didnt have ph, so i had to make do with what i had, which wasnt much. AND my drawing skills back then were worse than they are now, so it gives the conundrum of having half of my doujinshi's art not up to my standards, while the other half is more recent and bearable. Shit. So i have to go back and redraw the first half.
I am currently in the process of doing that.
But what happens when i finish redrawing the first half, and ive improved, and suddenly im not happy with the second half????

It'll be a neverending cycle. And that scares me half to death.

This picture isnt the best (in my opinion, since ive improved a lot since then), and the thinness of her hips bothers me, but i felt that i should show this. Maybe this shows progress?

NO STEALIES!!!!

I'm in actual awe here.
You're welcome. ^^
I really like the colors, and I didn't notice the hips until you said something about them
I think her shoulder guards (or whatever they are -_-') look kick-butt~!
